President & CEO, Axelspace
Yuya Nakamura is the president and CEO of Axelspace, a Tokyo-based microsatellite startup. He earned Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from the University of Tokyo in 2007. During his university days, he was involved in 3 nanosatellite projects, including the world’s first successful CubeSat launched in 2003. Based on this experience, he founded Axelspace in 2008 with his colleagues. As a company leader, he has led 5 successful microsatellite projects, including a private satellite dedicated to the monitoring of Arctic ice and JAXA’s technology demonstration satellite.
