Gerard Jansson • Director, Government Services • Telesat
Gerard (Gerry) Jansson has over 30 years’ experience in research, development and deployment of advanced communication technology, ranging from passive hardware design through systems architecture to mission support. This includes over 40 commercial spacecraft in which he contributed to their mission’s success. He recently supported the U.S. A.F. Space and Missiles Systems Center (SMC) and the U.S. intelligence community with the implementation of end-to-end service solutions, leveraging commercial capabilities. He has published in the field of hosted payloads, service solution development and demonstration. He is a space systems subject matter expert. Gerry holds numerous patents on space-based service delivery. Currently, Gerry is Director in the Telesat government services team, identifying Low Earth Orbit (LEO) capabilities leveraging the Telesat Global constellation. Industry and government are looking to pivot to LEO, and as Telesat’s Government Services Director, Gerry is architecting a hybrid SATCOM capability to meet the U.S. Government, its allies and coalition partner’s needs.
