CHINA COMMERCIAL SPACE
REACHING A TURNING POINT?
Over the past 5 years, the Chinese space industry has slowly opened to commercial companies, with more than 100 startups entering the market with plans to provide launch, satellite manufacturing, or other space-related products or services. To now, most commercial companies in China have been in the R&D phase, but as these companies are maturing, they are reaching the point of execution. Regulations are still not fully clear, but with significant positive inertia coming from the government, investment community, and companies themselves, the Chinese commercial space industry appears to be at a turning point. Panelists at this session discuss on the Chinese commercial space industry today, challenges and opportunities, and industry’s future prospects.
