Lynette Tan • Chief Executive • Singapore Space & Technology Limited (SSTL)
Lynette is the Chief Executive of the Singapore Space & Technology Ltd (SSTL), previously the Singapore Space & Technology Association (SSTA), which she co-founded in 2007.
In the fast-changing tech sector, Lynette identifies new opportunities and develops effective ways for government, companies, and individuals to partake in the emerging Asian space industry. To that end, SSTL collaborates with international organizations including Airbus, Singapore Land Authority, and the World Bank to identify use cases for satellite technologies for infrastructure planning and economic development.
She runs a space tech accelerator in Singapore and is also the managing partner of Project Cyclotron, an exclusive program that assists early stage, deep-tech, space start-ups. She is a Karman Fellow, an international award given to individuals whose achievements in space are outstanding. She is also advisor to German space start-up, MyelinS.
Lynette is active in promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics interest amongst youths and women. For her efforts and accomplishments, she was recognized by the local leading female magazine for her “Outstanding Contributions to the Science & Technology Industry” and also named as one of Singapore’s “100 Women In Tech”.
Lynette received her Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Stanford. She received the highest distinction and the Alumni Award for her undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering at the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign. She was a recipient of the Sundstrand-EDB scholarship in 1999 which awards only one scholar a year.
She is currently in the Tsinghua-INSEAD joint EMBA program (2019 – 2021). She is interested in opportunities to make a bigger difference in the science & technology landscape.
