India’s New Spacecom Policy – The Good and What can be Better

India’s decade old SatCom Policy may be getting a long awaited refresh. Starting mid-2020 the Indian Government announced a series of reforms for the Space Sector including the formulation of regulator IN-SPACe for granting authorisations to space-based services. This was quickly followed by a draft SpaceCom Policy that attempts to capture the entire spectrum of space activities, from EO to NGSOs and facilitate the establishment of Indian companies to develop space-based systems.
